Preparation for UK visa interview - 2023

Preparation for UK visa interview

Tips to help you prepare for your credibility interview

1. Make sure you read about your programme, *** University, your study location and think carefully about why you chose to study with that specific UNI instead of the other institutions. You can find out more about your programme in their website.
2. Consider what career you would like to purse after finishing your studies. Many of you will be studying a professional programme designed to help you break into some of the most prestigious and respected careers. So you will be aware of the type of job you want to do after you graduate, be prepared to explain this if you are asked about it. If you are studying a foundation or undergraduate degree perhaps you intend to study further to help you reach your career target, make sure you can explain this.
3. Be prepared to explain your source and availability of funding. If your family are helping you to fund your studies, you will need to tell UKVI this if they ask you about it. If you have official financial sponsorship make sure you are aware of the amount and exactly what is covered. If you have a loan, think about how you will afford to pay this back. If you have worked and saved money to study in the UK, you might want to make sure you explain that to the UKVI.

During your credibility interview

1. The interviewer will also be checking your ability to converse well in English. If there is any issue with hearing them clearly e.g. via the video link or telephone, you should ensure that you raise this so that they are aware that it is a technical issue not one of comprehension.

2. Be calm and you must answer honestly and to the best of your knowledge the questions you are asked. Be precise and specific. If you do not understand a question, do not be afraid to ask to repeat it rather than giving wrong or meaningless answers
