European internship opportunities

Europe provides a wide range of opportunities for local and international students.  Higher education and internship opportunities are the two best opportunities among them. Every year different universities and organizations provide opportunities for internships. This year also Europe has launched many internship programs for local and international students and learners. The deadline for application of some of those are already expired, but there is nothing to worry about. We still have a lot of internship applications ongoing. In today's post, we will cover all the internship programs available right now, their requirements, and application procedures.

UNICEF Internships

This internship provides a direct opportunity to work for UNICEF. The duration of the internship depends on the duration of the project. The internships cover two major fields- policy and regulations-related subjects/topics.  The eligibility requirements are listed below-

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Currently enrolled in bachelor, master, or Ph.D. program.
  • Fluent either in English, French, or Spanish.
  • Excellent academic records.
  • Has no immediate relatives working for UNICEF. Here, by immediate relatives they mean father, mother, brother, sister, children, and wife.

IAESTE Internships

IAESTE stands for International Association for the exchange of students and provides career-focused technical opportunities to students through internships. To be eligible to apply for this internship, the applicant must be residing in any of these COUNTRIES. All engineering, applied science, arts, commerce, and health-related internships are available under this organization. The terms and conditions for the application are listed below-

  • The duration of an internship is 8 to 52 weeks.
  • Deadlines of different internships or programs vary on the project deadlines of the programs.
  • Some intersnhip programs are not funded.

DIGITAL opportunity Traineeships

They offer internships to ongoing students or recently graduated students. These programs are financed by the HORIZON group and implemented by Erasmus+. The objective is to provide students hands-on market experience to make them understand the digital market functionality. Students from Erasmus+ Countries and associated Countries can apply for these internships. Recent graduates, who graduated not more than 12 months before, can also apply for these internships. A monthly allowance of 500 euros is provided to the awardees, besides, some other lump sum amount is provided as installment. To look for internships and applications visit the OFFICIAL site.

OHCHR Internships

OHCHR stands for United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. They offer internships to newly graduated students mostly. They do not provide any funds or scholarships for these internships, students by themself have to fund themselves or they can apply for outside funding. The eligibility criteria are listed below-

  • Recent graduate or ongoing enrolled students.
  • All responsibility for the Visa must be done by the student.
  • All expenses are to be borne by the student.
  • If you are selected, you have to provide a medical insurance to stay in Switzerland and also a certificate mentioning that you are in good health to take part in this internship.
  • Fluency in English is obligatory.

Eurodyssey program

The internships are taken part in the European region. Students aged 18-30 are provided an opportunity to learn business skills through these internships. Most of the internships provided a language training course at the beginning of the internship for 3-4 weeks, then the main internship program starts. All expenses are covered by the authority, students, therefore, pay nothing. Also, there is no special requirements to get accepted to these internships, students just need to fulfill some basic requirements provided by each individual authority. EID Internships

The European Investment Bank provides internships to recent graduates. The objective of these internships is to contribute toward the integration, collaboration, and development of economic and social cohesion among the member countries. The duration of the internships are mostly 5 months and the major fields are finance, audit, economy, and engineering. The eligibility criteria are listed below-

  • Applicant must have a thorough command of either English or French.
  • Priority may be given to candidates who are already enrolled in any European financing institution.

EU deligations internships

These internships are provided by the European Union's Diplomatic Service. These internships are provided to students, young graduates, and civil servants. The basics and some conditions of the internships are listed below-

  • Internships are provided to EU and non-EU students and civil servants.
  • Applicants who are recent graduates will receive the full funds. But, applicants who are currently enrolled in their 3rd, 4th, or 5th year of education may not receive funds.
  • The candidate must be fluent in any one of the EU delegate languages. Specifically Spanish or English or French.
  • You can not avail the internship twice.

 OECD internship programs

The main purpose of these internships is to provide international students an opportunity to improve their analytical and technical skills. Every year they provide 500 students the opportunity to take part in their internship programs. This is basically a research internship. The job description is below-

  • Research, data analysis, and drafting (investigation on methodologies, writing paper,s and publications)
  • Liaison and outreach  (Participate in meetings, webinars, and seminars and establish foreign contacts)
  • Event organization, social media, and communication.

Requirements for the internships are listed below-

  • Applicant must be an enrolled student at a university while applying for the internship.
  • Excellent command of either English or French.
  • Solid computer skill- MS office.

ESMA internships

European Securities and Markets Authority provide these internships. The internship is taken part in Paris, France. They provide 6-12 months internships to European students in the field of Resources department (HR, Finance & Procurement, Facility Management, ICT, and Planning & Reporting). Corporate Affairs Department (Risk & Control team, Communications team) or Senior management team (Accounting team). This is also a research-based internship where data analysis, paper writing, and publication are involved. The application procedure is entirely online and no additional documents are needed. Applicants need to check the official website to look for their desired internships and apply according to the mentioned procedures. 

NATO internship programs

NATO provides a limited number of internship opportunities to national and international students at the NATO headquarters in Brussels. The internship duration is normally 6 to 8 months. The objectives of the internships are to provide a better understanding to interns of NATO and also how an organization works and how to handle the workload and learn management. Depending on the intern's profile, NATO may or may not provide funds. They may receive a scholarship/fund that includes economy two-way tickets and an allowance of 1200 Euros. The eligibility criteria are listed below- 

  • The applicant must be over 21 years.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in any degree program while applying for the internship.
  • Required language: English or French
  • If granted the internship, intern must buy his health insurance.
